Vision:

Department of Architecture, SU aspires to become the center of academic excellence in architecture education to produce graduates who would advocate creative inquiry and research, synthesis, context, moral values, leadership context and lifelong learning in addressing the emerging needs and challenges of built environment and societies.

Mission:

1. To prioritize design excellence as a central tenet of its mission, the program aims to produce architects having commitment to innovation, sustainability and social responsibility in design.

2. Given design excellence at its core, the program targets towards interdisciplinary collaboration that emphasize cross-disciplinary learning, involving partnerships with other programs, engagement with community stakeholders and exposure to diverse perspectives.

3. The program also gears towards professional development, including practical and communication skills development, exposure to industry best practices, and opportunities for internships and networking. It thus aims to prepare its students for leadership roles in the fields of architecture, construction science, community development and digital media arts.

4. In addition, the program, at its context, seeks to instill an appreciation for the cultural, historical and behavioral factors in its students. It thus, involves a focus on local architecture and heritage, engagement with local communities and cultures, and also exposure to global architectural traditions.
