Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Programs

  1. Minimum GPA of 2.5 (or second division) in SSC and HSC examinations or their equivalent, or GCE/IGCE “O” Level in four subjects.
  2. “A” Level in two subjects with a minimum GPA of 2.50 in each examination (using the scale A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1), or an average score of 450 in GED with five subjects.
  3. Minimum GPA of 2.0 in SSC and HSC examinations individually for Fashion Design and Technology.
  4. Sons or daughters of freedom fighters are eligible if their combined SSC and HSC GPA is at least 5.00. An authenticated certificate proving the parent's freedom-fighter status must be submitted.
  5. Equivalent performance under other educational systems, including the American High School Diploma or IB, may also be accepted.
  6. A combined SAT score of 1100 may be accepted instead of the admission test for high-school graduates from any system.
  7. Applicants to engineering programs must have studied Physics and Mathematics at HSC/A-Level.
  8. The University may accept non-degree admission, usually for exchange students.
  9. Transfer of credits from comparable educational institutions may be considered after admission.

Additional Admission Conditions

  1. Applicants who passed HSC under a mark-based grading system will be considered for admission and scholarships according to the conversion scale approved by the SU Admission Committee.
  2. Any uncertainty concerning a degree or diploma obtained at home or abroad will be referred to and resolved by the SU Degree Equivalence Committee.

Graduate Programs

  1. A relevant undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale; or
  2. A relevant bachelor’s degree with at least second division/class in all previous examinations.
