I am delighted to have known that the first convocation of Sonargaon University was held on April 13, 2022. I would like to congratulate the students being graduated on that auspicious occasion and commended their parents as well as the university authority, faculties and administrative staff for their relentless effort for organizing that event.
University is the seat of higher learning encyclopedia that imparts quality education and conducts research for creating new knowledge and innovation. Higher education sector in Bangladesh has made considerable headway over the years, particularly in the field of technology. It is important for the universities to enrich their curricula and research activities in line with local and global needs. I am glad to have learned that Sonargaon University offers such naval architecture and marine engineering to meet our emerging needs apart from many conventional subjects of humanities, commerce, law, science and engineering. I urge upon all the universities to change their focus and redesign their objectives so that they could become potential source of vital manpower.
The convocation is a precious moment for the graduates celebrating the culmination of their strenuous pursuits of study with glory and greatness. For graduates, it signifies the recognition of years of hard work and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives. I hope the graduates of Sonargaon University will make the best use of their diligence, knowledge and skills to achieve competence in their respective field of study and build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
