Abstract

The conventional paradigm of scientific publishing and information sharing is being redefined by the quick development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially large language models like ChatGPT. With previously unheardof efficiency, scalability, and accessibility, these generative AI tools are becoming more and more integrated into different phases of the research lifecycle, such as literature reviews, manuscript drafting, summarization, and even peer review. But this change also brings with it serious problems with data reliability, academic integrity, authorship attribution, and ethical governance. The benefits of AI-driven tools in increasing scientific productivity and expanding participation are thoroughly examined in this paper, along with the risks of misinformation, plagiarism, and misuse. It also offers a thorough analysis of how these tools are upending traditional scholarly communication workflows. It also evaluates how researchers, journals, and academic institutions have adjusted to this technological change. The study ends with practical suggestions for creating transparent guidelines and responsible AI integration to protect the legitimacy, accountability, and integrity of scientific publishing in the age of generative AI. These recommendations are based on real-world case studies, existing policies, and emerging best practices.
