To be a center of excellence for higher education, research, and development in the fields of Arts & Humanities, Business, Science, and Engineering. The vision of the Library and Information Division (LID) is to become a reputable, leading research library in the country. To meet the demands of a modern library, it is continuously accumulating the necessary hard-copy and electronic materials.

The Library supports this mission through its collections and services, and maintains a significant amount of subscribed electronic resources such as the University Digital Library (UDL) of the UGC. It is also a member of Research4Life – the collective name for five programs (HINARI, AGORA, OARE, ARDI and GOALI) – which provides developing countries with free or low-cost access to more than 100,000 leading journals and books in health, agriculture, environment, applied sciences and legal information.

The Library’s mission is to enable and enrich the teaching, learning, and research endeavours of the University by delivering flexible access to relevant information resources and by providing distinctive collections, services, facilities, and programs. The purpose of the SU Library is to support academic and research activities. The Library carries out its mission by:

• Fulfilling the course-related needs of undergraduate students.
• Meeting the scholarly needs of graduate students and faculty members.
• Providing users with access to materials available inside the subscribed e-resources.
• Equipping users with the skills and resources needed for continuous lifelong learning.
• Promoting information services in a manner that reflects the distinctive character of the university.
