Skills-based scholarship competition

What is SU Future Leader-2027?

It is Sonargaon University’s skills-based scholarship competition for Spring 2027 admission. Usually a waiver comes only with a good GPA. Here, the scholarship is decided by your skills.

  • Communication
  • Reasoning
  • Teamwork
  • Problem solving

Students who have completed admission take an online test on the portal. The top 6 of each program then sit a viva on campus. Winners are chosen on the final total out of 100 marks.

Minimum CGPA 3

Every scholarship holder must keep a CGPA of at least 3 in every semester. If the CGPA falls below 3 in any semester, the scholarship does not apply in the next semester and that semester’s fees must be paid.

In the LLB program

The Department of Law’s LLB program has one scholarship: the first-place student gets a semester fee waiver only. This rule does not apply to the LLM.

Extra opportunities for winners

Ambassador

For the whole length of their program, winners represent the university at their own college and in their area as SU Future Leader ambassadors. This work is never given during class or exam times.

Leading clubs

The 64 winners can take the lead in 28 clubs and in university events.

Transparent selection

The teachers who mark the video and the writing will not see the student’s name, and will give a written reason for every mark. The portal itself adds up 70 + 30 = 100 marks.

Credit for extra-curriculars

Being active in sports, debating or clubs counts: on equal marks, the student with an extra-curricular certificate goes ahead.

Questions

Common questions

Who can take part?

Students who passed HSC, Alim, Diploma or an equivalent between 2024 and 2027; for master’s programs, students who completed a bachelor’s degree in the same period. You must complete admission to SU in any of the 22 programs for the Spring 2027 semester.

Does GPA matter?

Not for the scholarship: GPA counts for 0 marks. But the minimum admission requirements of the program you choose still apply. The eligibility form checks exactly that.

I am already admitted. Can I take part?

Yes, if you were admitted early for Spring 2027, came in by credit transfer, or got a result-based waiver. If you were admitted in an earlier semester, you cannot take part.

Which language should I answer in?

You can answer in either Bangla or English. Accent, camera quality and clothing are not judged.

Can I use AI?

You may use AI in the written part, but you must say so when you submit; saying so will not cost you marks. In the video, faces, voices or avatars made with AI are not allowed.

What if the internet drops during the test?

The internet connection is the student’s responsibility; the timer keeps running even if the connection drops.

Does the scholarship cover accommodation and meals?

No. Accommodation and meal costs are not included.

What if I am not selected?

You continue your studies under the regular fees and any waiver rules that apply to you.

Do certificates help?

If you have extra-curricular certificates, upload them to the portal (up to 6), with details of each competition. On equal marks, the certificate holder goes ahead; the original certificates are checked at the viva.
